Welcome to the data driven economy

Nxt Statista asked me to create a representative animation to visualize the complex tasks of Big Data.

We opted for a 3D solution and staged a world with millions of particles. The challenge was to narrow down the many areas of Big Data as the main heading. The data was put into shape for 4x major topic blocks.

Styleframes & breakdowns

Several steps were necessary to design the world, different approaches were researched & developed.

In Autodesk Maya & Sidefx Houdini millions of particles were emitted and animated based on the assets. The whole appearance was enhanced by a further load of particles in Adobe AfterEffects. All CGI created in Autodesk Maya and Sidefx Houdini. Compositing was done in Adobe AfterEffects. The motion graphics & custom shapes were crafted in Adobe Illustrator and animated in Adobe AfterEffects. Here are the final styleframes & breakdowns.
